The People's Republic of China since its founding in 1949 has always relied, in addition to state institutions, on a series of non-traditional mechanisms for its diplomacy and economic relations. The key concept of Chinese foreign policy that unites the party with state institutions in this effort is a Leninist concept called the United Front. They are mainly in charge of carrying out the strategy known as the Three Wars, a form of Political Warfare with Chinese characteristics. This strategy largely follows Sun Tzu's famous maxim where ‘the supreme Art of War is to subdue the enemy without fighting’.
