Prostatic cancer (PC) is the most frequent tumor in the whole Spanish population only preceded by colorectal cancer. It is also the most frequent neoplasia in men in the EU, with the exception of the nonmelanoma skin cancer (European Cancer Information System, 2020).There are standard histological parameters in the PC, that have a well demonstrated prognostic value in the radical prostatectomy specimen. Intraductal carcinoma (IDC) which is present in prox-imately 17 % of the radical prostatectomy specimens, has been recently described by the World Health Organization, as one with independent prognostic value. The complexity and heterogeneity of the PC have promoted the search for practical and objective biomarkers, which may be able to give clinically relevant information about biological features and expected evolution of the disease. Some of the proposed molecular markers have good predictive values, but in many cases they have not been validated either have not reached sufficient level of acceptance as needed for being adopted in the daily practice. The presence of predictive histological parameters, specially IDC, and the prognostic evaluation of six biomarkers with respect to biochemical recurrence (BQR), are matter of study in the present Thesis...
