Abstract
This article examines the new trends in civil law, and criticizes its quality and its adaptation to the needs of society and to the legal technique. With this intention, the disability reform carried out in Spain by Law 8/2021 is valued first; then it goes on to deal with the new regulation of domestic animals, with an alleged attribution of rights that is not real. There is also a look at the attribution of subjectivity and rights to natural spaces, the attempt to attribute these concepts to robots, and finally a quick consideration of the metaverse and digital universes. In general, we see a critical consideration and a warning of the little use of these vain efforts in the legal field.
