Resumen

Estados Unidos nunca fue miembro de la Sociedad de Naciones. Sin embargo, esto no significó un aislamiento con respecto a la organización internacional. A través de ciertos individuos, o de organizaciones filantrópicas, la potencia americana participó de manera regular en los comités «no políticos» de la Liga. El propio Gobierno norteamericano impulsó en muchas ocasiones esa participación. A partir de la década de 1930 las instancias de cooperación entre la potencia y la organización se intensificaron y esta dinámica contribuyó a dar forma al ascenso de Estados Unidos a superpotencia al finalizar la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
