Résumé

The Sepulveda-Ayllón sub-basin is located in the southeastern border of the Duero basin. The cenozoic lithological succession of the area has been divided in seven units, being the Upper Paramo unit the youngest one within the Miocene, from lower to upper Vallesian. This unit is characterized by aluvial fans that coalesce towards the sub-basin centre. These aluvial fan change gradually to lacustrine and palustrine deposits towards the northeast. Petrological, sedimentological and morfological characterisation allowed us to identify and divide within the more proximal fans, three fan groups wich have been named: Riaza fans, Negredo fans and Santibáñez de Ayllón and south flank of sierra de Honrubia-Pradales fans. As a group, these fans were deposited by successive sheetflood fan currents and show a clear control from the sediment source area as well as climatic control, being less important other elements such us the tectonic.
