Our aim in this work has been to further the understanding of concept of Economics of Defence in these times of crisistrying to find a redefinition of it in the framework of a more convulsive and complex society. This broader and polyhedral definition takes into account the impact on defence of asymmetric wars, new technologies, the so-called rhizomic terrorism, and the security understood in its new dimension. In order to carry out this task, we have successively addressed the existence of a new world order as a decisivefactor to consider, the different important fronts that have the Economics of Defence, as well as its relationship with SustainableDevelopment. In the analysis of the new order, we refer to the chaos that prevails in the large Islamist bloc, to the unstable and weak situation in Europe, to the uncertainty about the short-term future of the United States and Russia, and to the unequal evolution of emerging countries. In his stead, as the most important defence fronts are considered the following: to guarantee the most efficient structure andmanagement, to make it possible the contribution of defence to economic growth, to enhance the participation of the defenceindustry in the process of transnationalization of production and the arms trade, to continue our presence in the solutionof global conflicts, and the maintain and consolidate the understanding between society and defence. All this without renouncing the achievement of sustainable development
