Abstract
In this paper we propose a study of the use of chine-collé in the practice of contemporary. We therefore present a review in which it is discussed how artists use chine-collé within both the expressive and the conceptual possibilities offered by this printing resource. Likewise, we take into account the procedural questions that should be considered, as well as shipping and subsequent conservation of the print. This text does not intend to offer a manual for use of the chine collé (although its procedural and material principles are briefly collected here), but it provides a critical analysis on how this technical possibility is incorporated in the world of contemporary editions. In order to offer an open discussion, this text is illustrated with the prints of artists such as Pat Andrea, Abraham Lacalle, Alison Wilding or Macaparana, among others, with the editions published by Benveniste Contemporary in Madrid.
