The aim of this article is to study an anonymous photograph that Cíctor Erice uses in his medium-length film «Vidrios partidos» (Broken Windows), which is part of the anthology film Centro Histórico (2012). It is not possible to correctly study his image through traditional methohologies. Eves Víctor Erice's film evades conventional film analysis given that what the director presents is a based on mistrsusting images and film genres. Our proposal is to understand «Vidrios partidos» and the founf photograph it contains as an objetc of study which requires its own methodology. The image cannot be analyzed through traditional methods given that it is image that has been filmically intervened on. In the same way as the medium-lenght film is neither a documentary nor a work of fiction, but a strange mix of both. It is work or fiction that imitates documentary techniques and is shot with real people who recite a script about real experiences lived by workers. For all these reasons, we suggest that at times a researcher must distance himself from classical methodologies to approach certain objects of study from new paths and perspectives that have not previously studied.
