Resumo

This paper presents a study of the adaptations and procedural adjustments with the aim of consolidating the collaboration between the approaches of Therapeutic Jurisprudence (TJ) and Disability Law. It starts with the regulation at international level and goes up to Law 8/2021, of June 2, by which the civil and procedural legislation is reformed to support people with disabilities in the exercise of their legal capacity (Royal Decree No. 132 of June 3). The route followed leads to the specific regulation of adaptations and procedural adjustments in the area of civil procedure, whether in litigation (Art. 7 bis Civil Procedure Act) or in voluntary jurisdiction (Art. 7 bis Voluntary Jurisdiction Act), as well as in the notarial sphere (Art. 25 Notary Public Act). Three groups of adaptations and procedural adjustments are being approached: the application of the easy reading program, the figure of the facilitator and the system of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
