Abstract

This article comprises a philosophical reflection on humour. Throughout the text, the author gives different definitions of humour and establishes a typology: satirical humour, enigmatic, intellectual, liberating, destructive, Freudian, destabilizing. According to the author, humour is the most surprising way to take what is serious as a joke because it is born from astonishment at the limitlessness of the cosmos and because it appears as a metaphor of opposites.
