Abstract

Nerudian poetics is inexhaustible; However, perhaps one of his most complex and neglected collections of poems (Attempt of the infinite man) explains both the fruitful relationships between Spanish-American poetry and the Vanguards as well as the poetic renewal that it entailed in productions such as those of Huidobro and Neruda, and deserves some more sieges. , given its condition as a hinge towards one of the most outstanding stages of the Nobel Prize: the surrealist. Despite the manifest coldness between both authors, it is unavoidable to turn to the interactions that can be identified between Altazor and Attempt of the Infinite Man, two masterpieces of Spanish-American literature and, by extension, universal. In this article, then, in a modest and panoramic way, we intend to address the hermeneusis of these works to better understand the contribution of the Vanguards, and in a singular way of Surrealism, to the renewal and poetic originality of one of the main Latin American poetic trends of the twentieth century. Thus, an identifiable relationship is established in a rhetoric that is handled at different levels.
