Tecnopopulismo autoritario en los países árabes y legitimación internacional

Resum

Este artículo aborda tres aspectos que caracterizan la restauración autoritaria posterior a las llamadas primaveras árabes de 2011: a) el recurso a tecnócratas al frente de los gobiernos, b) la proliferación de discursos de despolitización de la gobernanza y c) la posposición de la renegociación de los viejos contratos sociales. A ello se añade la relevancia del nexo internacional, dado que los estados aliados estratégicos a nivel global y los organismos financieros internacionales amparan esta fórmula que garantiza estabilidad y posibilita la aplicación de reformas en clave neoliberal. Sin embargo, este tecnopopulismo autoritario no logra responder a las demandas económicas de la población ni proporciona vías de inclusión política ni un marco para redefinir un nuevo contrato social; en el mejor de los casos, sirve momentáneamente de estructura de contención de las protestas.
