Résumé

In this article we analyze boredom and its derivatives in Greek mythology, drawing on contempo- rary philosophers such as Nietzsche, Jankélévitch and Camus. Through the analysis of Homer’s epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey, as well as the myths of Prometheus and Sisyphus, we examine how Greek gods and heroes cope with boredom and seek to make sense of their lives. First, we look at how the gods in Greek mythology, despite their immortality and power, also experience divine boredom. Their eternal existence leads them to seek entertainment and sti- mulation through intervention in the lives of mortals. However, this quest for entertainment often comes at a price for humans, becoming pawns in the divine game. Mortal boredom, the experience of which can have dire consequences for existence, is also discussed. These questions raise interes- ting considerations about human fulfillment and authentic existence.
