Resum
ENThe mainstream interpretation of the current ecological crisis seems to focus on shattering the dialectic between technology and nature. However, some environmental theorists have pointed out more subtle aspects that also call for understanding this crisis as a ‘crisis of sensibility’. In this sense, ecology engages museums not only because of their architectural particularities, but, above all, because they are at the very heart of what we understand to be the relationship between culture and nature. If nature used to be defined from its position outside culture, the neologism ‘exomuseum’ invites us here to reconsider its antagonisms from the premise of the museologist Zbyněk Stránský: ‘A museum object is not just an object inside a museum’. Perhaps the way in which the museum relates to its objects is where its greatest ecological challenge lies.
