Abstract
The museographic plan according to which the Museo del Prado’s nineteenth-century art collections were rearranged in 2021 is the main object of analysis in this article. The decisions relating to the distribution of the works, and particularly the multiple possibilities open to the visitor’s free choice of route through the rooms—an area made up of twelve rooms with very different entrances—allow us to speak of a museography affected by values such as hypertextual narration and sequential discontinuity, with a notable effect on the historiographical narrative.
