Resum

Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the nations resulting from the break-up of Yugoslavia, finds it difficult to consolidate itself as a stable and viable country, despite all the international support it has received. Born out of a process of fracture —that of Yugoslavia— and having suffered a war (1992-1995) whose level of harshness and cruelty has not been seen in Europe since the Second World War, the process continues. The disputes among the different nationalities that make it up are leading the young state towards a potential new fracture, towards its death as a country. In the midst of global geopolitical reconfiguration, with the war in Ukraine as a backdrop, the interests of old and new powers are clashing in a key area of the planet such as the Balkans. Here, an area with little cohesion such as Bosnia has become the perfect battleground. A brief analysis and a final conclusion make up this chapter.
