Abstract

Law no. 11/2023, of 08 May, transposing six relevant European Union Directives, which came into force on 08 November 2023, is set to lead to a radical digital transformation of the Notarial Office. It refers to the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/1151 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132 as regards the use of digital tools and processes in company law. Its impact on responsible notarial work in all areas of the daily life of people and companies, as well as on the functioning of all Public Administrations, is substantial. As a result, when it comes to the administration of justice, the enormous amount of litigation that a system of preventive legal security as sophisticated as the Spanish Notarial Office is capable of avoiding or reducing is clear; and this represents progress of incalculable value in the current period of resilience, sustainability and austerity in which any professional and/or institutional activity actively pursues efficiency.
