Abstract
Eighteen male rats were randomly assigned to one of three different groups to test the effects of prolonged and recent stress on acoustic habituation of startle response. Group EP was exposed to three months of crowding; group ER was exposed to high ambient temperature few minutes before the training in habituation and group C was not treated before habituation. Results show slower habituation in group ER and faster habituation in group EP than group C. These results are commentated relative to possible causes.
