Resum

A structural and mineralogical study of fault-controled quartz veins related to extensional structures have been carried out in the Central Domain of the Spanish-Portuguese Central System. The opening and infilling stages of mineralized and barren quartz veins have been established, along with their tectonic regime within the regional geological context. The last opening and infilling stage takes place during the Alpine deformation. As a result, a new tectono-hydrothermal event of an Oligocene-Middle Miocene age, is proposed in the Spanish-Portuguese Central System.
