Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze an inscription preserved in the church of San Juan Bautista de Turienzo de los Caballeros. It is a decontextualized funerary tombstone that presents a series of graphic, chronological and philological particularities that make it unique. To try to shed light on the vicissitudes that motivated the creation of this epigraphic monument, a comprehensive study of the genetic, internal, external and functional characters has been carried out and has been put in relation to the historical-social circumstances in which it was born.
