Resum

In Tourism, knowing in depth the aspects related to supply and demand, is fundamental. However, it is also key to analyze the territory, understood this, as physical support (destination) on which the tourist activity is developed. Despite its relevance, it is not always given the importance it requires, as it happens in university degrees in Tourism. Therefore, the purpose of the communication is to reflect the difficulties encountered in the teaching of a territorial base subject such as "Tourism Destination Planning". The subjects that are addressed, although essential for the student to understand the complexity of the tourist system, are dense, because, in most cases, the students have hardly had contact with aspects of this nature and, in addition, they suffer from A generalized geographical basis. This work shows the need to adapt teaching methods to the current moment, in order to stimulate the future tourism professionals of Spain in the planning and management processes. In addition, it points out issues to be improved in the teaching process of territorially based subjects, in order to reduce the initial distance that is generated between the student and the tasks of planning a destination.
