Abstract
In the recent years, the University Educational System has faced new challenges related with teaching and learning quality. Traditionally, Anatomy and Physiology subjects teaching have been taught in lectures. The new trends of the European Higher Education involve complementing the traditional pedagogic educational models with the new systems in which the student gets to be actively involved in his own learning. These active systems lead on to encourage the student’s motivation as well as critical thinking and discussion skills. With these goals in mind, we have proposed an interactive activity (by congress format), we have called “Minicongress”, in the “Anatomy and Physiology” subject of Speech Therapy Degree. This was applied, in the first module, “Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology”. Dynamics was as follows: each student was assigned to one activity: making a poster, multiple choice like test with reasoned correct answers and reviewers, the students placed fourteen days for poster preparation and one day for presentation. The Minicongress results were collected in a satisfaction survey showing that 80% of the students consider that this methodology was more attractive than the traditional way to learn and acquire knowledge.
