Résumé

In the last 15 years, three major crises have been tackled with very different economic and employment policies. We can say that those that have developed during the legislature that ended in 2023 have meant a paradigm shift: use of ERTES and active fiscal policies, as opposed to external adjustments and fiscal austerity; abandonment of the strategy of wage devaluation; and a labour market reform that has broken the trend of the previous ones and has achieved a substantial reduction in temporary employment while creating jobs intensively. While the financial and pandemic crises are of different natures, the policies implemented in the first case were counterproductive and aggravated their consequences, while those implemented afterwards –also to address inflation– have contributed to a more favourable adjustment of the economy. Policies have changed, and their results have improved.
