Abstract

Background: Generalization to everyday communication is arguably a key goal of any aphasia therapy program. Some authors point out that therapy should be oriented to meaningful outcomes that allow patients with aphasia to use the training activities in ecological situations that have direct impact on their daily life (e.g., Baso, 2010; Carragher et al., 2012). However, minimal data exist on the efficacy of these aphasia rehabilitation programs. This study aims to analyze the effect of the interaction-based therapy in patients with chronic aphasia in an ecological environment.
