Abstract

We analyse the symbolic structure underlying two dreams of the famous case of Ida Bauer, otherwise known as the famous "Dora Case" by Freud. We then analyse the origin of the Jewish Messianic Myth as it appears in Genesis, in connection with the symbolic structure of the second dream, key to the case. We observe that the structure of the Oedipal myth constitutes the exact inversion of the messianic myth, which also allows us to deepen our understanding of feminine desire
