Abstract
The goal of this work was focused on the development of an operational procedure for the purification of polyols by crystallization with phosphoric acid in a stirred tank. The variables that have the greatest influence on the process are: the amount of phosphoric acid used in neutralization and the pressure and temperature profiles during crystallization. The proposed operating procedure allows the reduction of the total cycle time, better control of the particle size, in addition to obtaining a polyol that meets the required quality specifications.
