Between 1693 and 1792 Valencian territory temples and palaces surfaces were hidden by decorative programs that ensured to convey specific and original messages. Therefore, the buildings became mere supports for visual discourses that, like their rhetorical counterparts, were the result of a careful process of the iconographic contents and types invention, their positioning in the space using unusual techniques and their transmission to the public. This doctoral thesis aims to offer an exhaustive analysis of this phenomenon, which is examined diachronically throughout the five chapters that make up its first volume. The second consists of two appendices: the iconographic one, in which the most prominent decorative complexes are analysed according to the iconographic method, and the documentary appendix, where twelve unpublished documents are transcribed.
