Résumé
This study examines the factorial invariance of a questionnaire developed by the Instituto de Evaluación y Asesoramiento Educativo (IDEA), to assess school environment from a student‘s perspective. Data from four countries were analyzed (Argentina, México, Puerto Rico and Spain). Exploratory Factor Analysis and Tucker‘s congruency coefficient showed structure invariance in a five factors‘ model (i.e., atmosphere of order and rules, peer victimization, student-aggressor, teacher‘s violence towards pupil, and disruptive behavior) for the four countries. Finally, the range of Cronbach Alpha coefficient was acceptable for each factor (0.641 to 0.879), noting that the lower values correspond to factors with the lowest item numbers.
