Abstract
In the present essay a didactic proposal has been elaborated with the aim of initiating students to the critical commentary of texts. The objectives of the proposal are, on one hand, to increase students’ capacity for abstraction and argumentation and, on the other, to develop their ability to understand and appreciate the importance of the classical tradition in contemporary European culture and society. To this end, we have developed a guide to the reading and commentary of various significant passages of ancient greek literature, and we have accompanied it with the comparison of other current texts by authors of the 20th and 21st centuries, which are generally recognized for the high quality of their philosophical texts and intellectual proposals.
