The following research aims at conducting an analysis, at large, of the female narrative voice within the literary diary, and a more specific approach to the diaristic and autobiographical works by Laura Freixas. Our initial hypothesis argues about the likely existence of a female journalistic literature in its own right. That is, upon revising both existing studies of the female autobiographical literature and Laura Freixas’s works carried out by critics, we can acknowledge the existence of a genre in its own right, as we encounter a range of common and distinctive features shared with other similar genres, thus allowing us to discuss a female journalistic literature. We will attempt to build such hypothesis on the basis of existing studies in order to raise a series of thoughts which may help us create a theoretical framework to be applied to Laura Freixas’s works...
