Doctor by the Universidad de Granada with the thesis La gramática contrastiva como estrategia de aprendizaje y comunicación 2009. Supervised by Dr. Rafael Guzmán Tirado.

Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis El portafolio electrónico como herramienta de aprendizaje, evaluación y búsqueda de trabajo 2022. Supervised by Dr. Antonio Bautista García-Vera.

Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from Complutense University of Madrid and a Ph.D. in Indo-European Linguistics (in four languages: English, Spanish, Polish and Russian) from the University of Granada in Spain. She obtained research grants from Spanish and American institutions. She conducted research projects at Harvard University, Silesia University, Seoul National University & Sookmyung University in South Korea. She has been a coordinator of study abroad programs in Ghana, Peru and Spain at Messiah College and Virginia Commonwealth University and exchange programs of in-coming and out-coming students at Villanueva-Complutense University of Madrid. Her research interests focus on applied linguistics, second language acquisition, ICT for language learning and teaching, educational technology, and high-impact practices, particularly service-learning and ePortfolios.
