Alberto Riesco is an Associate Professor at the University Complutense of Madrid (Spain), where he teaches sociology of work and industrial relations. He belongs to the Complutense Institute of Sociology for the Study of Contemporary Social Transformations (TRANSOC). Alberto Riesco is a Co-Principal Investigator for Fairwork Spain (U. Oxford and WZB) and editor-in-chief of the Spanish journal Cuadernos de Relaciones Laborales. He has also previously been a coordinator of the master degree programme in Advanced Studies in Labour and Employment (UCM) and Head of the expert group of the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Social Economy in charge of drafting the “National Strategy for the Promotion of Self-Employment 2022-2027”. His recent books include: Desplazamiento de trabajadores en la Unión Europea (2018); Fronteras del trabajo asalariado (2020), Detrás de tu app. Descubriendo las condiciones laborales de las plataformas digitales en España (2024) and Workers without Companies: Towards a New Way of Working (Routledge, in press).
