Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Metodología para la evaluación de aspectos clave de políticas de aguas en países europeos 2005. Supervised by Dr. Javier de Pedraza Gilsanz, Dr. Fermín Villarroya Gil.

Associate professor at the Schol of Geology of the Complutense University of Madrid and Deputy Director of the Water Observatory of the Botín Foundation. She is co-founder and co-director of Caminar El Agua (https://www.caminarelagua.com/). She holds a degree in Geological Sciences from the Universitá degli Studi di Pavia (Italy) and a PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She received postgraduate training from the Program in Water Conflict Management and Transformation (USA), UNESCO-IHE (The Netherlands), the Complutense University of Madrid, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (The Netherlands). She has been a visiting at Oregon State University and the University of Colorado-Boulder (USA). She has worked as an international consultant on projects for USAID, the World Bank, the University of Oxford, Oregon State University and the University of Colorado-Boulder (USA) and WWF International. Since 2010 she has conducted carried out several research projects on water policy in Spain and Latin America in the framework of the Water Observatory in the framework of the Botín Foundation's Water Observatory. She has been a postdoctoral researcher at Oregon State University (USA), working on water conflicts and climate variability and the climate variability and the assessment of water governance in North Africa and the Middle East. Middle East. Previously she worked as a water policy expert for WWF International and WWF Spain and as a water management specialist for WWF Spain and as a specialist in water and land management in the private sector (GEOSYS, SL). Her main areas of work and research are hydrological planning and management of water resources at different scales, management of water resources at different scales, environmental policy evaluation, drought management, and the analysis of resilience to climate variability.
