Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Desviación social y acción comunicativa la presentación del desviado en la comunicación social 1992. Supervised by Dr. Ángel Benito Jaén.

Professor at UCM since 1992, in the disciplines of Information Theory, Semiotics of Mass Communication, Digital Media and Psychosocial Foundations of Information. Researcher in the field of Communication, she is specialized in information processes, media and languages, she has studied specific phenomena of contemporary communication and has developed theories and concepts in these environments, such as the 10 laws of Information. She has also developed a huge amount of translation activities of founding authors and texts in her area of research, publishing and editing them in the academic journal CIC Cuadernos de Información y Comunicación where she works as Director since 2014.
