Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Articulaciones identitarias prácticas y representación de género y "raza"/ etnicidad en mujeres inmigrantes en el Barrio de Embajadores (Madrid) 2006. Supervised by Dr. Fernando José García Selgas.
In my research trajectory I depart from a feminist intersectional perspective to analyze bodies, vulnerabilities and their practices, mostly in women and non-normative sexual and gender positions. This approach has fed two main research lines, both in a continuous dialogue that promotes fruitful synergies. On the one hand, on intersectionality, firstly addressing women in international migrations and later considering non-normative gender positions and LGTB+ and queer activism. On the other hand on Science and Technology Studies (STS) where I have been working on bodies and genders in biomedicine. In both cases I depart from a situated feminist perspective, anchored in standpoint feminist epistemologies. In this encounter can be framed my Ph.D. (20/12/2006) (European mention. Extraordinary Price. MEC FPU Scholarship). In my teaching profile, I worked as Teacher Assistant at University of California, Santa Cruz (US), during a postgraduate degree funded with a New Del Amo International Grant. In 2003 started working full time at UCM, first as Ayudante (Teacher Assistant) and from 2009 on as Profesora Contratada Doctora. I took part in 4 Teaching Innovation Project, being PI in one of them. I always have obtained very positive or excellent evaluations in Docentia, where I been participating since 2010. I have been Coordinator in the Master of Sociocultural Analysis of Knowledge and Communication from 2010 to 2015 and from October 2020 to the present. Regarding my research profile, I have been participating uninterruptedly in competitive research projects since 2000 (8 National plan projects. 1 international, 3 others). This had led to multiple publications in academic journals, books and books chapters, as well as multiple contributions in national and international congresses and conferences. In the last years I being working in the intersection of feminist epistemologies, STS, and health anthropological perspectives. In that line, I have been considering biomedical practices in the production and reproduction of sexed bodies -concretely in intersex and trans situations- and on health collectives and activist and how reconfigure biomedical practices, knowledges and care. Currently, I am exploring reconfigurations in the health feminist movements in Spain, and their impact in the production of knowledges and transformation of biomedical conceptions and practices. I am also following the circulation of a biofluid, human breastmilk in hybrid biobanking processes. The project Feminist epistemologies and health activisms: emergent practices, care and knowledges in biomedical contexts (National Plan I+D+i, Retos, 2017-2020), of which I have been main researcher can be place in such framework. Currently Iam researchin processes of expulsion and exclusion in the public health system. In particular attending to sexual and reproductive health issues (specially access to abortion) and attention to the LGTBIQ+ collective.
