Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis La comunidad sikh de Barcelona Una aproximación etnográfica Prácticas, negociación y transformaciones en el cuerpo y la corporalidad tras el proceso migratorio 2016. Supervised by Dr. Danielle Provansal, Dr. José Mª Valcuende del Río.

Her research career spans over fifteen years, characterised by cutting-edge output and a strong international dimension. Her work is situated at the intersection of the anthropology of the body, gender studies, transnational migration, and, more recently, feminisms and violence. She currently serves as a Permanent Lecturer (Profesora Permanente Laboral) in the Department of Social Anthropology and Social Psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid, holding ANECA accreditation as an Associate Professor (Profesora Titular de Universidad). She began her career with exceptional academic performance, evidenced by the Extraordinary Degree Award (Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura). Her doctoral training, funded by an FPU Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Education and Science, resulted in pioneering research on the Sikh community in Barcelona and the transformations of corporeality within migratory contexts. This work was notable for its innovative nature and an ambitious multi-sited ethnographic methodology, including research stays at internationally renowned institutions such as the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the Department of Sociology at the University of Delhi. Her scientific productivity has been recognised for its quality and social relevance, including a certified six-year research merit (sexenio). Among her most notable international achievements is the European Commission's Seal of Excellence, awarded to her project TRAMIETHIM (focused on transnational minorities and ethnic immersion processes from a gender perspective) under the competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions of the Horizon 2020 programme. She has accumulated fifteen years of experience in higher education, having previously taught at the Pablo de Olavide University. Her teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is defined by pedagogical innovation —having actively participated in six teaching innovation projects— and a steadfast commitment to academic quality. Furthermore, she holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (CAP) and specialised training in Human Rights, tools that enhance her capacity for knowledge transfer across diverse social and academic contexts. She is an active member of high-impact interdisciplinary networks, including the Sikhs-in-Europe Academic Network, the Anthropology Network of and from the Bodies, the Institute for Feminist Research (INSTIFEM), and the APSYC Research Group (Anthropology of Social and Cultural Policies). Her scientific career reflects a robust balance between high-quality publications in indexed journals and prestigious publishing houses, and an ethical commitment to contemporary social issues, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge within the social sciences.
