Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Degradación de suelos por erosión hídrica en la cuenca del Duero Estabilidad estructural y estimación de la escorrentia superficial 1996. Supervised by Dr. Juan Hernando Costa, Dr. María Isabel Hernando Massanet.

Academic Background: Graduated in Pharmacy (summa cum laude) in 1990, M. Sc Environmental Impact Assessment 1992 and PH. D. in Soil Science 1995 with a laureate Thesis about soil degradation (Juan Martel Prize). I follow several training courses related to research techniques or educational courses. Research experience: After the degree in Pharmacy (summa cum laude) and the M. Sc. on Environmental Impact Assessment, I began my research in this topic which I still follow. Since 1997 I am staff, under different positions at Soil Science Department of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I am co-director of the Research group Fitosolum focus in the research of the soil and plant relationships in different scenarios natural and under the effects of a human perturbations. I had several collaborations with nationals and international colleagues in this field. I pointed out two research stays in the laboratory of Professor Schimel, as well as the collaboration with the Research institute of transport (TRANSIT) of the UPM, both finished with highly cited papers. I have been principal investigator or participant in over 20 research competitive projects, and I have a great experience of research transference with different companies with more than 20 research contracts signed with our research group. Teaching experience: since 1997 I am involved in all the teaching activities of the Soil Science Department, under-graduated and post-graduate courses. I have more than 20 years of lecturer experience and I have been invited as visitor to several master’s degrees by the Universidad de Barcelona, International University of Andalucía, or San Pablo University. I promoted the development of a professional master’s degree on Environmental Health in the UCM, and the creation of the Environmental School Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno in the Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo. I’ve been member of three research projects related with educative innovation in the UCM related to the development of tools educational materials for teaching. Professional Experience: I’ve being working in Environmental consultancy since 1990. Mainly through an extensive collaboration with different companies under contracts with the UCM. Last 10 years I was involved in the board of directors of two public universities. I was rector delegate of the UCM in the position of Subdirector of the UCM General Foundation (2019-2023) with the mandate of Director of Cursos de Verano de San Lorenzo del Escorial (2020-2023), and Subdirector of research management of the Foundation (june 2019-october 2020). I have been General Secretary (2017-2019) of the Universidad International Menendez Pelayo. Programs and Studies Coordinator in the Universidad International Menendez Pelayo (2013-2017) in which I have the responsibility to coordinate over 40 post graduated programs which more than 2000 students enrolled.
