I am an associate professor of psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid. I received my PhD in clinical psychophysiology from the University of Granada. My current main research program focuses on affect dynamics and their relation to psychological well-being. In the past, I have studied brain-heart interactions and the relation between physical exercise and cognitive function. In 2012, I founded Open Scholar to promote a scholar-governed academic publication and evaluation model, leveraging institutional repositories and open peer review. Since 2025, I serve as advisor to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer at UCM and coordinator of the UCM CoARA Working Group.
