Saida Santana Mahmut teaches and researchs in the Department of Journalism and New Media of the Faculty of Information Sciences of UCM, in the Faculty of Communication and Arts at UNNE and taught at The New York Film Academy in Los Ángeles. Doctor cum laude by URJC, degree in Journalism by UCM. Her thesis "Fundamental characteristics of the dramatic space Study 1 in the so-called golden age of TVE (1965-1969)" guides the lines of research that will govern her artistic and scientific work focused on language audiovisual in theatrical, video-artistic and television narrative. Erasmus Program at Universitá degli Studi di Salerno and Rome, visitor researcher in City of NY University, Cuban Cultural Center of NY, and Spanish Cultural Center of Miami and research collaborator in University of Southern California. She has worked in Media for more than 20 years, presenting and writing television programs such as "40 años de TVE en Canarias" or "Ida y vuelta", a format of interviews around the world. Script coordinator for TVE in Juan Ramón Lucas' interview program “En noche como esta”. Scriptwriter at TVE2 and Splendens Ibérica in the TV programs "Enrédate" y "A saco" and in Literal Pc., La Ardilla, El Terrat, Luciérnaga Producciones, both in fiction and non-fiction entertainment. In Press, she has written reports and articles since 2005 for Pshycologies Magazine and has been a regular contributor to the "Azure" luxury magazine and "I am not your boring newspaper" in Miami. As head of communication departments, she highlights her communication campaign of the book written by Kate McCann, Madeleine, in Spain. As a scriptwriter in the USA, she has premiered the TV Movie Milagro en la cocina (Telemundo NBC) and was dialogue writer for the TV serie on Netflix, La señora de acero, also worked for the production company El cartel de los sapos with the project De Mente Criminal. Director, writer and performer of La Indiana (Comunidad de Madrid support to theatrical writing, Research fellowship at City of NY University) premiered in Instituto Cervantes and Casa de Colón. Creator of multimedia performances "Visual Poems" and dentro, exhibited at The Spanish Benevolent Society in New York, the Hunter College of the University of the City of New York, the Spanish Cultural Center in Miami, the Cultural Center of Mexico in Los Angeles, among others. She is the author of the audiovisual pieces Retazos, Detenerse (public call for a selection of one hundred research and artistic creation projects), and Carta de amor, exhibited at the Kerouack Festival in La Nacional in NY and at the FICMEC Festival. As a playwright, she has won awards for her works Melocotón en almíbar (VI Sit Festival Award), which has been translated into Greek, and for her text Sí da la vida (Puerto de la Cruz Contest). As acting coach, she has worked in the first tv serie for Apple TV, "Now and then" ( Homeland director, Gideon Raff and Fariña director, Carlos Sedes. She has also worked in Daniel Calparsoro's TV movie for A3, “Tormenta”, in his feature film “Invasor”, where she also took the casting of the Canary Islands; or the film "Gemalogy" by Rick Limentani. As an actress, she has a trajectory of more than 20 years in film, theater and television. She has been director of the “New Disciplines” Section of the Josefina de la Torre Chair. She is a member of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, SGAE, AISGE, Union of Actors and the Union of Film Actors and the American Federation of Sag-Aftra Radio and Television Artists.
