Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis La donación como indicación formal método y práctica de la hermenéutica fenomenológica 2019. Supervised by Dr. Ramón Rodríguez García.

Stefano Cazzanelli (Rovereto, 1982) is a professor of philosophy specializing in phenomenology, hermeneutics, Neo-Kantianism, and transcendental philosophy. His academic career, both in teaching and research, has focused on the transcendental roots of phenomenological thought, particularly in its Husserlian and Heideggerian developments. Hence his dedication to the study of authors such as Emil Lask, who represents a transition between Kantianism and phenomenology, as well as to the exploration of methodological devices —Heidegger’s formal indication and Lask’s principle of the material determination of form— that make it possible to articulate hermeneutics and transcendental philosophy. His research career began at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy). He subsequently moved to Paris to deepen his study of Jean-Luc Marion’s phenomenology of givenness and later completed his doctoral dissertation, supervised by Professor Ramón Rodríguez, at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with an FPI-UCM fellowship. In 2012 he carried out a research stay at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, where he studied Emil Lask’s unpublished writings under the supervision of Professor Anton Friedrich Koch. His close ties with Latin America are reflected in his commitment to the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Estudios Heideggerianos, of whose executive board he has been a member since 2019. Since 2008 he taught at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, joining the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2022 as Assistant Professor. He is currently editor-in-chief of the journal Studia Heideggeriana and secretary of the journal Logos. Anales del Seminario de Metafísica, as well as of the book series Fenomenología y Metafísica at Guillermo Escolar Publishers. His research activity has been recognized with two six-year research awards granted by the CNEAI (2007–2020).
