Degree and PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM, 2003 and 2009, respectively), obtaining the 3rd best academic record and the highest qualification. My research trajectory is focused on the study of multiple (re)emerging infectious diseases, particularly vector-borne infectious agents, and antibiotic resistance. Scientific career developed in six countries, including 52 months as a postdoctoral fellow in Germany and Brazil since 2012 (Free University of Berlin, Fluminense Federal University of Niteroi and Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Brazil), through the award of multiple grants and postdoctoral contracts (UCM, FAME, CNPq, FIOTEC and FAPERJ). My international experience includes various research stays abroad (Germany, France, Brazil, USA, New Zealand, Colombia, and UK) during my PhD and postdoctoral positions and contributed to my fluency in five languages. I am the co-author of 24 scientific papers and five book chapters. I have also served as regular scientific reviewer and guest editor of six indexed journals. PI in three and associated researcher in 17 competitive projects funded by public and private companies, both in Spain and abroad. Participation with 32 communications in multiple national and international scientific congresses. I have also contributed to public outreach by participating in five scientific divulgation activities. I have supervised one thesis, one master's final project, and sixteen undergraduate final projects. I have also been involved in three innovation projects and three service-learning initiatives, collaborating on educational activities with marginalized communities and engaging students from various academic courses. In addition, I have collaborated in different public health institutions and private companies in project management and clinical trials. I am also member of different research groups and societies, such as "Health Surveillance" (UCM), "Diagnosis and Control of Zoonoses in Carnivores (DICOZOCA)" and "Antimicrobial Resistance" (UAX, Madrid), Spanish Society of Microbiology, AVEPA and ESCMID. I have a strong academic background, starting in 2011 as an assistant professor at Alfonso X El Sabio University (Spain), where I have taught 11 subjects in seven university degrees. I have also participated in the teaching mobility programs of the same University, by teaching theoretical subjects in several universities abroad. Currently, I am a PDI member of the Complutense University of Madrid, where I instruct nine courses across three undergraduate programs and two UCM master's programs. Additionally, I have given seminars in multiple national and foreign institutions and collaborated in various educational programs (“4th ESO + Empresa”, or "Bioinvestigadoras UCM" in schools in Madrid) and university masters, reaching more than 3,700 hours. Finally, I have two research “sexenio” recognized by CNEAI (Spain) and the Academic Accreditation for Senior lecturer (“titular”) by the ANECA agency (Spain).
