C. Díaz del Arco works as a pathologist in one of the largest centers in Spain (Clínico San Carlos University Hospital) since 2018. She received an excellence grant to study her medical degree in Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid (2007-2013). She completed her training as a medical resident in Pathology between 2014 and 2018, in the Clínico San Carlos University Hospital. In 2018 she had an educational stay at the Department of Molecular Pathology of the Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital. She earned her PhD with honors in 2023 from the Complutense University of Madrid, with the thesis titled "Prognostic value of clinicopathological features and immunohistochemical markers in resected gastric cancer: predictive scores, lymph node involvement, and molecular classification." She has obtained several University Expert Degrees in Cancer Biomarkers, Cancer Pathology, Research Methodology and Statistics, and she completed three university-specific Master’s Degrees in Cancer Pathology, Gastrointestinal Oncology and Bioethics. As a researcher, she has published more than 70 scientific articles in international and national peer-reviewed journals, 45 of them as first author. She has presented more than 100 communications in international and national congresses. She has been awarded with the Clínico San Carlos Hospital Biennal Award for Excellence in Medical Residency and the Alberto Anaya Award for Best Article Published in the Official Journal of the Spanish Society of Pathology, among other honors. She has been an associate professor at the School of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid since 2022.
