Daniel Montañez Pico (Madrid, 1986) has a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Granada (UGR) and a master's degree and doctorate in Latin American Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he has also been a professor. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Applied Sociology of the UCM (section of the Faculty of Education) and professor of Geography and History at the IES Renacimiento of Carabanchel. He regularly collaborates as a columnist in Ojarasca, a supplement on indigenous affairs for La Jornada, in Gara and El Salto. Among his publications stands out "Black Marxism: decolonial thought of the Anglophone Caribbean" (Akal, 2020).
