Abstract
Mandibular temporary and permanents molars present usually two roots, a mesial root and a distal root, it might present anatomical variations as an extra root (1). This supernumerary root seems to be associated to racial aspects, as it has been reported more frequent in asian population (2-7), and it is considered unusual in african (8,9), american (10) or european populations (11).As we found very few scientific publications related to three-rooted mandibular molars, most of all related to temporary teeth (5-7), and to european population we found of possible interest to go through the present study.OBJETIVE The aim of this study is to determine the frequency of detection of first and second temporary mandibular molars and first mandibular permanent molars with three roots in bitewing and panoramic radiographs...
