Abstract

The proximity between the characteristics of the sculpture of Sir Anthony Caro (London, 1924-2013) and their jewelry is a reality. For this British sculptor, jewelry creating becomes an artistic experience. His sculptural nature jewelry involves creating a new object, which is both a jewel and a sculpture. Despite the apparent disparity between the two disciplines, this relationship is confirmed in our sculptor, since it is, in both cases, a construction that is born of the latent power to generate objects. We will attempt to reflect on the relationship of the two arts in Caro, and on the plan and disposition that assemble in his fantasy to form as much the jewelry as the sculpture, from the use of materials that act as neutral signifiers, showing no evidence of the artists hand.
