Resumen

This research focuses on identifying effective personality types in children and adolescents of high ability, in order to facilitate a psychoeducational intervention. The sample consisted of 34 children and 20 adolescents of an Association of Parents of Gifted Students in Asturias (APADAC). Two instruments for the assessment of effective personality were used: (1) Personality Questionnaire Effective, in second and third cycle of primary education (Fueyo, 2010) and (2) Effective Personality Questionnaire CAPE �brief version- (Martín del Buey, Zapico, Morís, Marcone y Dapelo, 2004). The results indicate the existence of four different profiles in each of the samples, leading the path to a specific intervention on the basis of the strengths and weaknesses of each type
