Abstract

The purpose of this paper try to present the main discussion of thinking and doing an education and a feminist development outside of the dominant knowledge. This paper is part of a larger PhD research based on improving the girl’s education in Mozambique. This paper wants to deconstruct the patriarchal systems using the critical theoretical discussion about the hegemonic narratives of gender, education and development. So, the main goal of this paper is to know the patriarchal rules system with special emphasis on educational work and its links with the development and the cooperation. The research methodology on this paper is situated in the framework of the qualitative principles, documentary analysis, research reports and practices for action as well as the results of the PhD research. These conforms a postcolonial and feminist approach, with a critical pedagogy and development studies, given to us the keys to do a fair and equitable citizenship. As main result, the paper shows the need to think and to choose from a point of view that is a feminist knowledge, which includes the voices from the borders. Therefore, the main contribution of this theoretical discussion is the need to decolonize the dominant feminist knowledge and the educational practices, especially to include the differences and the new narratives. This commitment about the subaltern and diverse knowledge is necessary to make an alternative and a critical feminism. This approach can be introduced in the education and in the development, being the key to a new education instead of reproducing inequalities.
