Resumen

Using L2 as a medium of instruction in higher education might present communication problems due to the lack of fluency that a significant number of students show. At Nebrija University, in the Languages and Education areas, we have introduced two projects which involve language practice in a less traditional way. The first project involves cooperative work between graduate and postgraduate students through a blended learning methodology: Industrial Engineering graduate students improve their spoken skills thanks to a plan of action proposed by students of the Master’s in Bilingual Education. The second project deals with the difficulty of assessing and correcting students’ presentations. For this project we recorded our first-year Early Education students performing a mock class. Our presentation will describe both actions analyzing the improvements we have noticed in both cases and how, in the light of our results, changes will be introduced in the next academic year.
