Abstract

The contribution of social dialogue on autonomous resolution of disputes in Spain has led to an annual processing of more than 4,000 dossiers of mediation and arbitration. This article deals with the historical evolution of labour dispute management through the experience of SIMA Foundation and the role of the national rule to promote these systems. In this period, a culture of resolutions in agreement has been created in Spain whose direct effect has been the reduction of labour disputes and working hours lost due to strikes. The article also approaches the economic impact of conflict resolution as managed by SIMA.
