Abstract

The crisis of Westphalian sovereignty, as a result of the rise of new actors and transnational phenomena, is perceived with distrust by the majority of lnternational Relations scholars in Russia. In line with the predominant realist approach in that country, authors tend to highlight the potential of globalization as a source of vulnerability for states, as well as the dissemination of a liberal ideology /egitimizing U.S. hegemony. However, this negative vision coexists with others that are more optimistic towards this increasingly interdependent and interconnected world, in which global problems become more important, to which no exclusively national solutions can be given.
